Her mother asked me to pick her up.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Rosie shook her head so hard tears fell onto the wooden floor.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cMom told me to run if he came back.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The old biker\u2019s voice dropped.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cWhat\u2019s your mother\u2019s name?\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Rosie whispered, \u201cMegan.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The biker\u2019s face broke.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Megan.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The girl he raised after her father died.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The daughter who stopped calling years ago because pride got louder than love.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">He slowly stood.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The man looked toward the door.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Too late.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Two bikers had already blocked it.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Rosie crawled out from under the table and clung to the old biker\u2019s jacket.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cShe said find Grandpa Joe,\u201d she cried. \u201cShe said you\u2019d be mad, but you\u2019d protect me.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The old biker closed his eyes.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">He had waited five years for Megan to come home.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Now her child had come running instead.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">He looked at the man in the white shirt.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cWhere is my daughter?\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The man said nothing.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">That silence told the whole bar everything.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Joe picked Rosie up gently, holding her like she weighed nothing and meant everything.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Then he looked around the room.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Nobody needed instructions.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The bikers moved as one.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">And the man who walked in looking for one scared little girl suddenly realized he had stepped into a room full of fathers.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The man\u2019s face changed.
